Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run Balanzz for you:

Account details you provide — your name, email address, and optional phone number.Financial records you add — accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, and settle-up groups.Device & usage data — app version, browser type, and crash reports that help us fix issues.

How we use your information

Your data powers the features you use — nothing more. We use it to:

Provide reports, budgets, reminders, and cash-flow insights.Personalize your dashboard, categories, and default currency.Send service alerts and reminders you opt in to — never marketing spam.

Data sharing & disclosure

We never sell your personal or financial data. We share it only with:

Trusted service providers (hosting, email) bound by strict data agreements.Authorities, when the law requires it and only to the extent required.Settle-up group members — who see only the shared expenses you choose to add.

Data security

All data is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.3 and at rest with AES-256. Access inside Balanzz is limited to a small, audited team, and we run independent security reviews every year. If we ever detect a breach affecting you, we'll notify you within 72 hours.

Retention & deletion

We keep your records for as long as your account is active. Delete your account from Settings and everything is permanently erased within 30 days — you can export a full copy of your data first.

Wherever you live, we extend the same rights to you:

Access and export a copy of everything we hold about you.Correct inaccurate account details at any time.Delete your account and data, or object to and restrict processing.

Cookies & tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, plus optional analytics cookies you can switch off in Settings → Privacy. We don't use advertising trackers, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals.
